cleaning rod
thin absorbent cloth
polishing cloth
powder paper (not cigarette paper)
swab instrument
wipe instrument down, removing any traces of fingerprints
return instrument to case
check placement of head joint, cork
visually inspect instrument for mechanical changes (i.e.,. loose screws, corks, felts, etc.)
have instrument looked at by a qualified technician
Your case is a very important piece of equipment as it protects your instrument against small bumps and scratches
most cases do not offer protection against heavy drops
do not store anything other than flute and cleaning rod in case
make certain instrument fits properly in case
never use polish on instrument
do not attempt to oil instrument yourself
do not play with head joint crown
