Instrument Rental Programs for 2009 - 2010 Northwest has the most innovative band and string instrument rental programs in western Canada! We were the first music store in Canada to offer both Rental Purchase and Trial Purchase plans. This year we have added a lower cost Rental plan as well. We also offer a Trade-up plan for string instruments All of our Rental Brochures  appear in the column on the right hand side of this page. Our rental contracts appear below with each option.  All files are in Adobe Reader format so that you can download them, save them and print them to your own computer. Our Rental Plans include the following options and features:   Rental Purchase- Since 1970, our most popular rental program. 100% of rent applies to purchase, but instrument may be returned anytime after the first 3 months with no further obligation. No finance or carrying charges are added to the list (contracted) price. You may exercise the option to pay off the balance owing at any time without penalty. Special discounts apply to early payout in the first 12 months.  Rental Purchase Contract String Trade-Up Plan- Applies to 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 size instruments. Rent purchase (as above) a smaller size string instrument for your young student and trade up to the next size as your student grows. All rental payments will apply to the larger instrument.  A set-up fee applies each time you trade up. Smaller size instruments ( 1/16, 1/10, 1/8 ) are also available for rent. String Instrument Rental Contract    Rental Plan- Rent with the option to apply 50% of the first year's rent toward the purchase of an instrument. An added benefit is your first rental payment will include a free month (four months for the price of three). Rental Plan Contract Trial Purchase- Cash purchase option. Buy the instrument at a cash discount price. If for any reason you no longer require it we will buy it back from you, refunding the full purchase price minus the normal rental-purchase charge for each month you have had the instrument. A Three month minimum applies The Instruments- Northwest Music is the Bach/Selmer distributor for British Columbia. We also handle most other major brands. All instruments come as complete outfits including case, mouthpiece, lubricant and/or reed. Insurance- Optional insurance coverage for theft or accidental damage for all student instruments on a school year basis. Warranty- All rental instruments are guaranteed against manufacturers defects for the duration of the rental. Regular maintenance is provided free of charge during the rental period. Payment- 3 months rent in advance are required for all instruments. PST (BC residents) and GST must be added for all rentals. While we will do mail order to anywhere in the world, there are territorial restrictions on rental programs that have been put in place by the instrument manufacturers. As a result our rental program is available to Canadian customers only.  Recording studios and music production companies should be aware that we do day rentals of music stands and stand lights in the local Vancouver area.
